It’s always a pleasure to do something special around the Smokers Delight anniversary. This time, I had the idea to invite some incredible contemporary artists to bring their vibes and jam on a track of their choice from the album.
I discovered the amazing Eléwa on YouTube, asked her to pick a song, and she chose “Wait A Minute.” Her rendition gave the track a fresh new flavor, she’s truly an incredible artist, and I’m proud to shine a light on her as part of this celebration.
We’re also honoured to have the soulful Jordan Stephens onboard. I reached out to him, and he picked a track from the album to jam on. Jordan, known from Rizzle Kicks, also starred in the Smokers Delight short film released on the 25th anniversary, so it felt right to have him add his touch to “Groove St.”
We put it together freestyle, Jordan sent his vocals recorded on his phone, and we worked on the track from there. The result is something for the true herbalists.
