Djrum - I Wander
Following the success of Under Tangled Silence last year, DjRUM returns to Houndstooth with a 16 minute continuous EP featuring a custom etched artwork on Side B.
Felix (DjRUM) was a child prodigy as an instrumentalist and his advanced musicality has always been prominent in his music, but here he has put himself front and centre as a composer. And this sense of exposure as a performer interweaves with an unflinching emotional openness too. Where sometimes electronic production as advanced as this can use intellect and techniques as shields from soul-baring, this is the sound of someone who can boldly say “I feel things, I cry all the time, and I'm not afraid to say it or show it in the music.” But this doesn’t mean there’s a move away from the soundsystems and dancefloors where Felix made his name as a uniquely innovative vinyl DJ, this EP encapsulates his musical upbringing weaving in percussive elements across the stereo field to create a truly mesmerising listening experience.
Tracklist:
1. I Wander (I)
2. I Wander (II)
3. I Wander (III)
4. I Wander (IV + V)

Saul Williams - Leap Life
With his upcoming record, 'Leap Life,' Williams expands the definition of what music itself can be, operating on the philosophy that "the voice is the instrument." Throughout the album, Williams speaks, chants, improvises and testifies over fluid arrangements that blur the lines between spoken word, jazz abstraction, hip-hop cadence, West African rhythmic logic, ambient composition and ceremonial sound design. Moving beyond traditional rhyme structures, the project embraces spontaneity, treating language as a rhythmic, vibrating force while capturing the essence of a jazz improviser chasing revelation in real-time, reflecting a lifetime of artistic preparation.
It’s a risky process — surrendering control inside a medium built on permanence — but Williams sees revelation in that uncertainty. “What does it mean to trust the moment?” he asks.

Jaga Jazzist - Live with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra
For more than 30 years, the Norwegian collective Jaga Jazzist have been a unique creative force on the international music scene. Since the band’s humble beginnings in Tønsberg in 1994, they have been driven by a constant desire to explore what a large group of exceptionally talented musicians with ambitious visions can achieve together. Having released on world-renowned labels such as Smalltown Supersound and Ninja Tune, the group found a home at Brainfeeder – the imprint owned by Flying Lotus – in 2020 to release their ninth studio album “Pyramid”. Taking a deep dive into post-rock, jazz and psychedelia influences they nodded to forebears spanning from 80s jazz band Out To Lunch and Norwegian synth guru Ståle Storløkken, to contemporaries Tame Impala, Todd Terje and Jon Hopkins. ‘Tomita’ is a nod to Japanese composer and synth player Isao Tomita, and ‘The Shrine’ alludes to Fela Kuti’s legendary Lagos venue.
Composer Lars Hornveth said at the time: “I feel that this album is a small symphony, each part containing its own rooms to explore.” Therefore, it was a very natural progression to create new orchestral versions of the compositions on “Pyramid” and record them at the historic Store Studio in Oslo, home of The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (Kringkastingsorkestret abbreviated as KORK).
“The way we arrange the music for Jaga and the orchestra is based on the idea of remixing ourselves. Lars’s music contains so many layers, countermelodies and hooks that can be expanded and rearranged into long, symphonic pieces. The music on this album was arranged by Erik Johannessen, with plenty of ideas and input from Lars. We drew inspiration from composers we love, including Jean-Claude Vannier and Serge Gainsbourg, Bernard Herrmann, Claude Debussy and Henryk Górecki. The opportunity to work with an orchestra doesn’t come along very often, so we took great pleasure in placing the orchestra front and centre, creating long overtures that take detours into both Vertigo and Melody Nelson, before everything finally comes together as one grand ensemble.”
Tracklist:
1. The Shrine (feat. The Norwegian Radio Orchestra)

Inkswel - The Creator
For years now, Inkswel has been part of the extended Apparel Music family, moving freely through our frequencies with a creative force that always finds fertile and open ground to evolve. His music lives in rhythm first, with his grooves that twist, breathe, collide and regenerate continuously, driven by a compositional instinct that always feels visionary. Yet one of the most beautiful aspects of his artistic universe is the way he surrounds himself with other sensitive minds and voices, artists capable of expanding his rhythmic architecture into harmonic, soulful and emotional territories. “Creator”, out on August 14th on Apparel Music, perfectly captures this spirit. The EP opens with the hypnotic “Creator”, where the vocals of Alice Payne and the talent of Willie Dynamo slide effortlessly through Inkswel’s unmistakable Late Nite Club Mix, a deep and fluid introduction that immediately sets the tone for the journey. The original version keeps the same soulful tension while stripping things back into a warmer and more direct groove, before the instrumental counterpart reveals how much detail and movement is hidden inside the rhythmic layers alone. “Cry For Mount Lebanon” shifts the atmosphere into something more cinematic and spiritually charged, showing Inkswel’s ability to move beyond club structures without losing momentum, while “Stand Out In The Crowd” sees the unmistakable presence of Colonel Red bringing raw soul energy and human warmth to one of the EP’s most infectious cuts. On “Fig Leaf”, the elegant voice of Lizzie Bradley with the help of Leonard Charles shape a softer and more introspective dimension, balancing the record with sensual harmonies and delicate melodic tension. The instrumentals included throughout the release are not simply alternate versions, but another way to enter the architecture of the EP itself, exposing the precision, freedom and musical intelligence behind every groove. “Creator” once again confirms Inkswel’s rare talent for building collective worlds through rhythm, where every collaborator becomes part of a larger emotional and sonic conversation.

Busta Rhymes & J Dilla - Dillagence II
In the history of hip-hop, certain collisions alter the orbit of the culture entirely. When Busta Rhymes first stepped into the otherworldly, swing-heavy universe of J Dilla, it was an alignment of two unstoppable titans—the most chaotic, kinetic vocalist in rap history meeting the quiet deity of raw soul and sub-bass perfection. Their original pairing set a gold standard for what happens when top-tier lyrical warfare meets sacred production. Now, the vault opens to unveil Dillagence 2: a resurrection of that mythic frequency, bridging the raw grit of the streets with a legendary, earth-shattering grandeur.
Authorized directly from the Yancey estate, Dillagence 2 pairs Busta’s razor-sharp, rapid-fire flows with Dilla’s nastiest, most sought-after unreleased beats. Built upon rare MPC canvases unearthed from Dilla’s legendary vault, the album captures both masters in a state of absolute, unchained ascension. Every track hits like a heavyweight knockout—blending off-grid snares, filthy basslines, and soaring soul chops with Busta’s apocalyptic precision. He treats every lost Detroit tape like a battleground, unleashing a larger-than-life energy that turns unreleased boom-bap into a stadium-sized manifesto.
Forget the cheap nostalgia cash-ins and posthumous butcher jobs. Dillagence 2 hits with the weight of two master craftsmen operating at the absolute peak of their powers. By locking Detroit’s deepest low-end grooves directly into New York’s loudest, most relentless vocal engine, this record doesn't just honor Dilla's legacy—it kicks the door off its hinges and demands you listen.

Black Rave Culture - Black Rave Culture Vol 4
We're incredibly grateful for everyone who has come into our lives through music. The relationships we've built and the experiences we've shared have left a lasting impact on us. The best way we know how to express our gratitude is to keep creating, keep evolving, and continue giving back through our art.
This album is a reflection of growth—not only sonically, but personally. From the very beginning at our Airbnb on Herengracht 164 in Amsterdam during ADE, to creating in an artist loft and studio space in Berlin, and later through the sessions and experiences that continued to shape the project in London, every city, every moment, and every chapter became part of this record's story.
The album was also deeply inspired by many of our close friends, several of whom are featured throughout the project. Their creativity, support, and presence helped shape what this album became.

Erykah Badu & The Alchemist - Before The World Blows
The collaboration between Erykah Badu and The Alchemist is a tantalizing prospect. On one side, the preeminent neo-soul singer of her generation; on the other, a producer who has become the benchmark for vintage boom-bap. Yet this joint album is far from a rigid division of labor between vocals and production. Built on a dynamic back-and-forth—tweaking each other’s work, dismantling initial ideas, and exploring new terrain—Before The World Blows is packed with unexpected twists and detours.
Conventional structures crumble, playfulness meets sensuality, and hypnotic grooves suddenly give way to total abandon. The sole constant is a shared devotion to the power of the drum-and-bass pairing. Serving as an unshakeable foundation reimagined across a variety of sonic textures, it acts as a guiding compass for their most wild and innovative ideas.
Then come the guest features, all encouraged to shine without compromising their signature sound: Steve Lacy, Westside Gunn, DJ Quik, Joi, and Earl Sweatshirt. Each answered the call from these two music heavyweights, determined to turn the album into a major event.

DOMi & JD BECK - YOU ASKED! (Instrumental)
Somehow both simpler and more complex, WHO ASKED? foregoes the roll call of special guests that illuminated NOT TiGHT yet features even more contributors including a small sinfonietta of seasoned classical players who help bring the duo’s incredibly singular, super maximalist and strikingly beautiful orchestral vision to life. Featuring vocals by Domi and JD throughout, it might almost resemble chamber pop if chamber pop had 50 times as many notes, shifty time signatures and an overall vibe of jazz-born indietronica cut with verdant flower-child freedom.

Dele Sosimi - Remixed
A little over a decade on from his debut album released on the label, Wah Wah 45s are very proud to present two brand new remixes taken from Afrobeat Ambassador Dele Sosimi’s much celebrated LP You No Fit Touch Am. In the years that have passed since the album’s release, a number of producers and DJs have re-worked and reimagined cuts from the album, most notably the much revered Medlar and his irresistible take on the title track.
In anticipation of Dele’s long awaited follow up album in 2027, and closing off the YNFTA era, we present to you two brand new remixes of tracks taken from this timeless LP.
Mysterious London based producer and DJ brekkyt (erstwhile known as The Breakfast Triple) is up first with a typically rhythm-focused, bruk infused and bass worrying re-work that takes Dele’s ever popular title track to a brand new audience, perfectly timed for the current broken beat revival.
Brekkyt’s recent cheeky re-works for Raphael Saadiq, Mis-Teeq and most recently for Kyla Kilzer & Max Noir on Tru Thoughts Recordings have seen his music receive some serious heat.
On the flip, Portuguese producer Meith takes album favourite Sanctuary deep into Afro-tech territories creating an irrepressible groove tailor made for the big rooms this summer. The Lisbon based beat-maker has previously released club focussed tracks on labels like Kazukuta and Sondela Records.
This pair of dance floor destroying remixes will be available on hand-stamped, white label vinyl.

Sully - Flux / Chatter
Juxtaposing acid-tipped breakbeats with influences of acoustic behaviour in nature, Sully unveils a debut release for Critical Music with two-track 12” ‘Flux’ b/w ‘Chatter’.
Sully says: "‘Flux’ and ‘Chatter’ were another attempt to take the groove and feel of the breakbeats I've been previously working with and build them from the ground up. The aim was to find space for the tonal elements to breathe and end up in a place I'd not been to before."
Birdsong became an unexpected reference point during the writing process, with Sully using synthesis to analyse and recreate natural calls as compositional material. The resulting dialogue between acoustic behaviour and digital sound generation forms part of the release's underlying methodology rather than a surface aesthetic.
"The contrast and contradiction of the organic world captured by digital processes is always a pull for me," Sully explains. "It never fails to inspire."
Jack Stevens aka Sully has spent much of the last two decades developing a body of work that sits slightly outside the obvious cycles of revival that have shaped UK bass music. While his records draw from established rhythmic forms, they rarely settle within a single tradition, instead examining the shared characteristics between them. His releases have consistently explored the points where 2-step swing, breakbeat construction, and jungle's rhythmic vocabulary begin to overlap.
Sully’s records retain a relevance that extends beyond the moment of their release, continuing to circulate through DJ sets and specialist record collections. This 12” adds another chapter to a catalogue defined by sustained investigation into rhythm, texture and soundsystem music.

VA - FABRICLIVE SELECTS VIII
fabric Records returns to broken beat & bruk with SELECTS VIII, the latest edition of its curator-led compilation series and the label’s first release dedicated to the genre in almost two decades. Bringing together pioneers alongside a new generation of artists, the 10-track compilation captures the depth and evolution of London’s broken beat movement, from rediscovered CoOp-era recordings to forward-thinking club productions.
At the heart of the compilation is the connection between broken beat’s foundations and the artists continuing to push the sound forward today. From the previously unreleased UNTILTED AS YET, which receives its first ever vinyl pressing, to a new generation of productions, SELECTS VIII brings together different eras of the scene across a single collection.
On the compilation, fabric adds: “Broken beat is a scene and sound that has brought us so much joy over the years, and SELECTS VIII feels like our way of giving something back. What has always made it so special is how true it has remained to itself. It has a devoted community, continues to evolve, and new generations of artists are carrying the sound forward while respecting the foundations that came before. We wanted this compilation to reflect that journey, from its roots to where the scene stands today. Made for the dancefloor first and foremost, it celebrates the depth, creativity and lasting influence of broken beat, alongside the artists continuing to shape its future.”
The SELECTS series sees members of the fabric team curate compilations exploring the genres, scenes and sounds that have shaped club culture. Each edition offers a personal perspective on a musical movement, bringing together established artists and emerging voices while celebrating the communities continuing to push electronic music forward.
