VA - Future Bubblers 9.0
The talent discovery and development initiative Future Bubblers, founded by DJ Gilles Peterson, presents its ninth compilation album highlighting emerging independent artists. The release showcases a genre-spanning selection encompassing jazz, soul, electronic, folk, R&B, trip-hop, and experimental soundscapes. Peruvian saxophonist and composer Allexa Nava anchors the record with rhythmically tight performances on "6844" and Lovellious's track "Kandela." The duo Hana Amaya and Tibo Step deliver a 90s trip-hop aesthetic on the lullaby "Your Prayer," while Bristol-based project Silver Ley blends classical structures with glitchy electronics on "Swandive." Vocalist India Shan presents her solo R&B work on "Bumped My Head," followed by alternative jazz quartet RUS on "Plaistow." The collection's fluid nature is further represented by OkCandice's Afrobeats and folk contributions, gospel-influenced vocal tracks from Faith Folorunso and Sosthieu, and DOPPLR's experimental production "landed," which merges DIY modular synths with tribal drumming.

Bonobo - Distance in Static
‘Distance In Static’ – released Sept 11th on Ninja Tune – is the new album from British musician, producer and DJ, Simon Green AKA Bonobo. It’s the latest from an artist who has forged a path as one of the defining voices in electronic music. A path that includes the release of two UK Top 5 albums (‘Migration’ and ‘Fragments’), billions of streams, collaborations with artists like Erykah Badu & Damon Albarn, and multiple BRIT & GRAMMY-nominations.
Across the record, Green collaborates with a typically striking cast of artists including Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis & Aanya Martin. Lyrics appear in English, Urdu and Japanese, while historic Iranian samples & guzheng recordings sit alongside Green's own meticulously processed instrumentation, woven together across recording sessions spanning LA, Tokyo, London and beyond – with a significant portion of the record completed at Neil Young’s legendary Broken Arrow Ranch.
His acclaimed live show has also helped redefine what electronic music can look like on stage, taking him from sold-out performances at Sydney Opera House, Red Rocks & Alexandra Palace – plus a historic five-night residency at the Royal Albert Hall – to major festival stages including Glastonbury, Coachella and Fuji Rock. Ezra Collective - Here Because of Hope
Ezra Collective's 'Here Because Of Hope' is the most ambitious and personal record of their career - conceived as a body of work split into three spiritual and geographical movements, the album traces the movement of Black people across continents and decades, from the music of Africa to the rhythms of the Caribbean, and home to the streets of London. Formed in the youth clubs of London, Mercury Prize and BRIT Award-winners Femi Koleoso, TJ Koleoso, Joe Armon-Jones, James Mollison and Ife Ogunjobi have now spent over a decade making jazz joyful, urgent and undeniable. On 'Here Because Of Hope,' they push that vision further than ever, asking a simple but profound question: why does so much Black music born out of pain sound so joyful? Their answer is hope: the belief, carried across generations and oceans, that something better is possible. Anchored by collaborations with Pa Salieu, Lila Iké, Leona Lewis, and reaching across the full breadth of the global African diaspora (including America, where those same African and Caribbean roots gave birth to jazz itself) 'Here Because Of Hope' is a record of remarkable warmth, ambition and humanity, and the sound of Britain's most vital band at the peak of their powers.

Dur-Dur Band - Dur-Dur 1988-1989, Vol. 3 & 4 (Analog Africa No.46)
In the 1980s, Mogadishu was home to one of East Africa’s most vibrant music scenes. Nightclubs, hotels and theatres filled with the sound of ambitious young musicians blending Somali melodies with funk, disco, reggae, soul and jazz. At the centre of that movement was Dur-Dur Band — a group whose recordings would later travel far beyond Somalia’s borders and find new audiences decades after they were made.
Drummer Adan Handal was there from the beginning. Born in Mogadishu in 1962, he left school as a teenager to follow his obsession with music. Alongside childhood friend Isse Dahir Qassim, he first performed in school competitions before joining the military band Bakaka. When that chapter ended after the Ogaden War, the two musicians imagined something new: a private band that could bring together some of Mogadishu’s finest young talents and explore new directions in Somali popular music. That idea gave birth to Dur-Dur Band.
By 1984, the group had become the house band at the legendary Jubba Hotel, where they developed their explosive live performances and constantly evolving sound. Drawing inspiration from Somali traditions as well as international influences, Dur-Dur created music that was both deeply local and remarkably modern.
Their early cassette releases — Volumes 1 and 2 — quickly spread across Somalia. But it was with Volumes 3 and 4 that the band reached its creative peak. Recorded under difficult circumstances, these albums captured a group pushing against every limitation: experimenting with rhythms, arrangements and studio techniques while facing personal losses and a country moving toward crisis.
The making of Volume 3 was marked by tragedy when singer Shimaali Ahmed Shimaali was badly injured in a car accident and later left Dur-Dur to join Iftin Band, one of their main rivals. Shortly before the recording of Volume 4, Baastow — the band’s male lead singer from the beginning — left for Saudi Arabia. Another devastating blow followed when founder and bandleader Isse Dahir Qassim died in an electrical accident during a theatre soundcheck. For a time, the future of Dur-Dur was uncertain.
With new members joining and Adan Handal pushing the band into new sonic territory, Volume 4 became one of Dur-Dur’s most adventurous recordings — combining electronic percussion, unusual drum textures and reggae-inspired grooves with the unmistakable spirit of Somali music.
Volume 5 would be their final chapter before civil war forced the musicians into exile and scattered them across the world. The cassettes that once circulated through Mogadishu’s record shops became precious documents of a vanished era.
Today, Dur-Dur Band’s music has travelled further than anyone could have imagined — from Somalia’s dance halls to listeners around the world. Their recordings are more than a document of a vanished era; they are proof of a musical creativity that survived war, displacement and decades of silence.
For Adan Handal, the only musician to appear on every Dur-Dur recording, the story of the band is ultimately the story of a sound that refused to disappear.

Eleven76 - A Day Of Unrest
Through coniferous woodlands tinged with yellow gorse that lead to eroded cliff faces and soft sand wet from the ominous waters of the North Sea, this part of the Northern Hemisphere - the East Coast of the U.K. with its mythical stories of underwater villages, beasts that terrorised clergymen and Bond-Villain-style nuclear facilities seem like an unlikely location for a musical partnership drenched in European cinema soundtracks, American B-movies, oddball funk and a DIY post punk aesthetic. But this is the place where we find Paul Elliott and Dan Smith, known collectively as Eleven76.
Nestled in their respective studios, experimenting and developing sonic textures, firing files across the internet and coming together to lay the foundations of compositions and to finalise mixes, Eleven76 have a process of work that marries the best parts of the analogue and digital worlds. Live instruments, spontaneity and a love for music are key to their workflow.
With their four albums “Space Voyage” (2018), “Occhio Occhio” (2022), “Synchronization” (2023) and now with their latest episode “A Day Of Unrest’”, Eleven76 transports the listener to parallel universes. Creating the soundtracks to films that do not exist is no mean feat. With smart compositions utilising vintage instruments whilst keeping an eye firmly set on the groove, the pair have been able to teleport the listener to retro-futuristic space missions, the cool sun-drenched European cities of the late 60s and 70s, through to intense dystopian b-movie thrillers of the early 80s.
With “A Day Of Unrest”, Eleven76 produce a soundtrack album that fuses 70s US cop drama with Italian ‘giallo’. There’s tension, intrigue, moments of light and heavy groove, making “A Day Of Unrest’” a body of work that reveals itself more upon each listen. This thematic record draws you from imaginary scene to imaginary scene and your mind’s eye can see the narrative unfold in front of you as you listen.
Working together for almost two decades, the work of multi-instrumentalists Paul Elliott and Dan Smith has included composing for TV, film and commercials, as well as writing and performing in both studio and touring bands. Paul began DJing in his early teens and has since developed a reputation as a wide-ranging collaborator and his projects have intersected with artists including Asha Puthli, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band and Shawn Lee, reflecting a practice built on exchange, groove-led thinking and a creative instinct that continues to inform his approach today. Similarly Dan Smith has continually been a top tier co-writer and collaborator for both commercially minded, left field and avant-garde musical projects, which have seen him reach the top of UK charts with the Noisettes and for seven years become an integral band member of The Heliocentrics and now the Crazy World of Arthur Brown who he currently tours and records with. A musical architect, His genre-spanning ability and depth of knowledge is second to none.
Their sound is built on a friendship and trust of musical taste, spontaneity, improvisation and an evolving collaboration. Eleven76 have a system … and it works.

Caspa - Translucent
Few artists can legitimately claim to have helped shape the course of Dubstep. Caspa is one of them.
The culmination of a six-month strong initiative that has seen Caspa reveal a new single each month; Translucent brings those parts together into one complete statement. The album also introduces fans to the final piece: "THE GATE", a previously unreleased treat!
Caspa's importance to Dubstep extends far beyond his own releases. He was there as the sound progressed from dark London rooms and stacks of dubplates into a global movement. With Dub Police and Sub soldiers, he provided a platform for a generation of producers; His DJ sets carried the sound around the world and with the now legendary FabricLive.37, he helped introduce a fresh, energetic interpretation o f Dubstep to an audience far beyond its original underground. But legacy alone did not scratch the itch...What has kept Caspa relevant is his refusal to become a museum piece for a sound he helped build. He moves with Dubstep because he has never stepped away from it.
That is reflected not only in his own productions, but in the artists he chooses to work with. In recent years, Caspa has continued to connect with the next generation of producers propelling bass music onward, with names including PEEKABOO, Distinct Motive, The Widdler, EAZYBAKED, MYTHM, Zero, Simula and more. It's these connections that represent something fundamental to Caspa's approach; rather than separating the pioneers from the new generation, he continues to put himself directly into the exchange of ideas happening within the culture - absorbing new influences while bringing his own experience and distinct musicality to the table. And Translucent embodies that very philosophy. Not content with just recreating a particular era, the LP weaves Caspa's history with where he is creatively right now. There are echoes of the raw musical attitude that established his name, but delivered with the perspective of a producer who has spent more than twenty years learning, evolving and testing exactly how bass music should move a dance floor.
That's what makes this latest offering more than just another release in an already formidable catalogue - the sound of longevity without complacency. Translucent finally reveals the complete picture - with "THE GATE" providing the final piece of the puzzle.

VA - Lefto presents Jazz Cats volume 4
The acclaimed compilation series returns with volume 4! Fourteen tracks showcasing the most exciting emerging voices in Belgian jazz, ready to claim a permanent spot on your turntable.
The latest instalment in the celebrated compilation series once again shines a spotlight on the most adventurous and forward-thinking artists emerging from Belgium’s jazz scene. Curated by Belgian tastemaker, DJ and broadcaster Lefto Early Bird, the collection continues a tradition of uncovering hidden gems and introducing them to a wider audience of dedicated diggers.
Over the years, the Jazz Cats series has become a trusted barometer of Belgium’s ever-evolving jazz landscape. Long before many artists gained international recognition, they first appeared on these compilations, making the series both a discovery platform and a snapshot of one of Europe’s most exciting musical ecosystems.
Jazz Cats Volume 4 captures a scene bursting with creativity, diversity and ambition. Across fourteen carefully selected tracks, the compilation explores the many directions contemporary Belgian jazz is taking today. Jazz, hip-hop, electronic music, afrobeat, spiritual jazz and experimental sounds coexist effortlessly throughout the collection.
The opening stretch of the compilation, led by Brussels-based Irreversible Entanglements band member Aquiles Navarro, Ola Tunji and Helena Casella, offers an early glimpse into a scene that rarely stands still. Their music moves freely between traditions and contemporary influences, reflecting less concern with preserving genres than expanding them. Artists such as Lupo Spaccaro and Kunde, joined here by the raw soul voice of Fred Gata, draw inspiration from hip-hop and contemporary beat culture, yet neither approaches these influences in a conventional way. Instead, they reveal how naturally these sounds have become part of the vocabulary of a new generation of jazz musicians.
Experimentation emerges as another defining thread. KVR and BREAD FOR PIGEONS embrace unpredictability through unexpected textures, shifting atmospheres and confident compositional choices, creating music that constantly challenges expectations. Elsewhere, artists like Gaiko and VLIEGWERK favor immersive soundscapes that reward repeated listening. Whether there's a connection between musical adventurousness and a preference for capital letters remains a question for future research.
At the heart of the compilation lies a strong sense of movement and groove. Ragini Trio and Foutloos approach that rhythm from different angles, yet both build their music around powerful, pulsating foundations. Their tracks need close attention, revealing layers of detail and low-end richness that practically demand to be experienced on a proper sound system.
By the time it reaches its closing chapter, Lucid Lucia, SLAGADER and Kuna Maze bring the focus back to forward motion. Jazz and funk-infused grooves provide a fitting finale, reminding us that however far these artists push the jazz genre, they never lose sight of its ability to connect, uplift and move people.
The result is a body of work that feels remarkably cohesive despite its diversity: a portrait of a scene that continues to evolve through curiosity, collaboration and constant reinvention.

Cesco - Niche Flex EP
The threeway combo you never knew you needed. Sam Binga, Machinedrum and Cesco built the raw bones of these tunes across a single morning in LA, overlooking MacArthur Park, in an intense session that saw them throwing live Bingerian vocals, raw Brazilian shrimp-sellers and tweaked-out Acid lines into the melting pot.
Further sessions between Highland Park and Stokes Croft saw these bare bones jams get fleshed out into the four genre-bending tracks that make up the Niche Flex EP, all of which have been tested out in clubs and festivals across the world, and which land this September via Binga's Pineapple Records imprint, on both vinyl and digital formats.
While obviously handy in the studio, Team MACESGA (as nobody calls them) also can operate a DJ booth to a reasonably high standard, as witnessed at the raucous Pineapple Takeover at the Beatport HQ in LA, and are available to showcase their Trans-Atlantic Threesome at a Quality Music Venue or Devious Fetish Spot near you.
Tracklist:
1. Niche Flex
2. Run It Up
3. l00k
4. Stainless Meal

Ras G - Blunts Rolled
RAS_G lives on... in the bass, in the smoke, in the cosmos.
In 2019, our beloved Afrikan Space Program elder, Ghetto Sci-Fi pioneer and cosmic traveler transitioned to the astral plane, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy of fearless creativity, spiritual humor, and uncompromising sound. He was one of one - incomparable, unbothered, and forever ahead. His presence is missed every day, but his vision continues to expand.
After years of care, love, and perseverance through unexpected turns, The Estate of RAS_G & The Shorter Family are honored to present "BLUNTS ROLLED" - the first posthumous release of unheard music landing on RAS-G's born day, Thursday, December 11th, 2025.
Eighteen raw transmissions: unreleased beats, remixes, loops & smoky spacecraft meditations arranged in true mixtape spirit exactly as RAS envisioned them. This isn’t a vault dump, it's RAS_G in full form - unfiltered, joyful, psychedelic & rooted in the low end theory.
"BLUNTS ROLLED" [GSF13] continues the ASP mission: connecting hood to heaven, ancient to future, earthly to astral. These sounds crackle with cosmic dust & Cali sunshine - grounded in LA soil, projected into Saturn’s rings. Featuring transmissions from ASP family Kahil Sadiq, The Koreatown Oddity, Zeroh, and even G himself... voices and energies orbiting each other in intimate, galaxy-folding, head-nodding, fronto-scented universes.
This release is a celebration, a homecoming, a new chapter in GHETTO SCI-FI MUSIC. Step inside Spacebase, drop the needle, turn the bass up and feel the smoke curl into the stars.
