Anushka - My Mother's Mother

Taken as the third single from Anushka's forthcoming album Ancestry, My Mother's Mother comes as a two track single including the original album track accompanied by a remix from South African/Mozambiquan wunderkind, Thakzin.

With the album version of My Mother's Mother featuring Gambian Kora player Jally Kebba Susso the track's heavily embedded west African influences are tailor made for a one of Thakzin's genre bending, pan-Africanist grooved remixes and here he really brings his 'A' game to enhance the Anushka duo's excellent arrangements.

Recently named as Mixmag's Producer of the Year for 2024 Thakzin, a champion of cultural coexistence and diverse influences, is widely heralded as a game changing producer and DJ who has been showcased by influential broadcasters such as Jamz Supernova and Benji B as well as his tracks appearing in the setlists of DJs Atjazz, Osunlade, Louie Vega and Laurent Garnier.

My Mother's Mother completes the trio of singles and remixes taken from Anushka's vinyl album Ancestry and is released as a digital single.
